display is messed up on the I-Pad

I purchased this app for my wifes I-Phone to use on the Pioneer AVH-P8400 head unit. It worked great on the I-Phone and on the head unit. So i purchased it for my I-Pad as well. It works fine in advanced app mode on the pioneer when I hook up the I-Pad but not so on the I-Pad. When you launch the app it opens up but has a display inside of a display. You can click on one of the choices such as 5-day forecast and the screen opens up but then you are stuck there with no way to back out other than closing the app. I am running IOS 6.0 on the I-Pad and running ver. 1.2.1 on the CommuteWX app....please help!
